Our dad, Noah Harris Johnson (Tacky Boartfield), was born June 20, 1929 and went to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on June 19, 2017, one day before his 88th birthday. We rejoice in his homegoing and that he is not suffering in this world any longer.
He is preceded in death by his father , John Bill (J.B.) Johnson, mother Mary Frances (Boartfield) Johnson, stepmother Doris (Polk) Johnson, and sister Sandra Ann Stewart.
He is survived by his sister Carolyn Jo (Johnson) Flippo of Midfield, AL; stepsister Diane (Polk) Weaver of Westover, AL; daughters Rachel Louise Rowell (Kenny) of Cordova, AL and Amanda Gertrude (Jay) White of Bessemer, AL, and granddaughter Jessica Ann White of Docena, AL.
Dad was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He also worked as a millwright at U.S. Pipe in North Birmingham, AL for 39 years until he retired in 1991.
He and mom lived in Fairfield, AL for 24 years before returning to Fairfield Highlands (Midfield) to their childhood neighborhood. After mom''s death in 2004, dad lived there until 2013 when he moved in with his daughter, Amanda, where he remained until his death. He was an active member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church until his health began to decline.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Brother Ed Cruce and Tommy Chesser officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 P.m. until 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.
