Paul Ray Roberts passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital, Gulfport, MS at age 85. Paul was a professional engineer, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Having graduated from The University of Alabama in 1959, he was an avid football fan and never missed a game. He was born October 9, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama to W.B. and Lula Roberts and was
the youngest of four brothers. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Bill, Luke, and Charles Roberts, his wife Martha, and his daughter Cathy Roberts Merin. He is survived by his daughters Jeannine Wilson (Larry), Janelle Wiegand (Larry), his niece Shannon Harbin (Marlin), and nephew William Roberts. Paul will be missed by his grandchildren Jason Wilson (Peggy), Megan Ramirez (Willie), and Catherine Wilkinson; his great grandchildren Ansley and Archer Wilson; and his great nieces Brittany Hassell (Aaron) and Anna Sandlin.
There will be a small graveside service Wednesday, September 14 at 10:00 am to be held at Valhalla Cemetery, Wilkes Rd in Birmingham. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Methodist Senior Service facility that took such wonderful care of him, Seashore Highlands, 12170 Highland Way, Gulfport, MS 39503.
