Peggy Wilson Stewart, age 82, of Huntsville, formerly of Birmingham, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at her residence in Huntsville.

She was a native of Jefferson County where she resided until 1963 when she moved to Huntsville. She was active with the PTA at Rolling Hills Elementary School and was a volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and worked with the Northwest YMCA with children in childcare, sports and many other activities and was a member of the Wears Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Richard "Tom" Stewart; a son, Alan Richard "Rick" Stewart; grandson, Gary "Deke" Miller and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by a son, Ryan "Scotty" Stewart; a daughter, Tami Bailey; a granddaughter, Amber Johnson; two grandsons, Brent and Michael Stewart; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Chapel in Midfield, Alabama with the Rev. Willie Diggs officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until funeral time at the funeral home.
