Rachel M. Towsend, age 87, of Midfield, Al. died on Wednesday November 30, 2011 at home. Ms. Townsend was a long time faithful member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church in Midfield, AL.

Ms. Townsend is preceded in death by her mother and father; Dora Burnam, and William Segers, husband; Lester M. Townsend, and one son; Jerry W. Townsend. Rachel Townsend is survived by two sons; Tim Townsend (Laura)of Charlotte, N.C., and Mike Townsend (Pam)of Pinson, Al., two brothers; Clayton Segers, and Larrell Segers, two sisters; Carolyn Graves, and Audrey Fulenwider and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rachel Townsend's services will be held on Saturday December 3, 2011 at 11:00am at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield, Al. followed by a burial at Valhalla Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held at the funeral home from 9 to 11am prior to service.
