Celebration of Life is being witness by all in the death of Romona (NeNe) Sims.
Romona Sims was born in Anniston, Alabama on October 9th, 1928 to the late Thearphilus Sims and Sibina Sims.
Ramona Sims a Bessemer native lived in Dolonah (The Camp) and settled down in Old Jonesboro.
Ramona was a 1945 graduate of Brighton High School where she played forward on the girls basketball team. In 1960 a certificate of Dressmaking was awarded from the State Vocational Trade School (Wenonah).
Her christian jouney begain at First Baptist Church Old Jonesboro and unity (St. Paul CME) She joined unity at her church home. She served as a usher until her health failed . She retired from the Flintridge Building in Fairfield, AL as a custodian.
She did not meet strangers because she loved to talk. Constantly watching the news, game shows, and Texas Ranger.
She leaves to cherish, daughter, Mona Lisa Webster, grandchildren; Rajesh Dill (Stephanie), and Raisha Webster, great grand, Rajesh SeDarius Dill, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her only son, Thearphilus Sims and sisters, Mary K Davis and Ruth McGee.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020, 12:00 PM at Valhalla Cemetery with Dr. Michael K. Williams Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home.
