Randall Watson Gowdy, beloved husband, father and devoted grandfather went to his Heavenly home on January 25, 2022, after a lengthy battle with vascular dementia.

Randall was born on April 27, 1931, to the late John Watson and Pearl Hewitt Gowdy in Cades, South Carolina. He graduated from Hebron High School in 1949 and served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was on active duty during the Korean War.

He married Gayle Juanita Myers in 1955. They had one daughter, Andrea. Randall and Gayle were members of First Baptist Church Pleasant Grove, Alabama, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a Godly man of honor. "The righteous man walks in his integrity:  His children are blessed after him."  Proverbs 20:7

Randall was preceded in death by Gayle, his wife of almost sixty years. He is survived by his daughter Andrea Gowdy Sledge (Henry) and his grandson Joseph Alexander Sledge. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church Pleasant Grove or to Hand in Paw.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 5 ^th , 2022, at Valhalla Funeral Home at 10:00 am followed by funeral service at 11:00 am.
