age 68, of Cullman, passed away Thursday, June 1st, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Hamaker was born in Walker County, on July 31, 1937. He was employed with White Fab, formerly Birmingham Fabricating Company for over 40 years. Most recently, Mr. Hamaker was appointed Vice President of Operations.
A strong work ethic and respect for his peers contributed to his loyalty to White Fab. His determination and zest for life will be missed.
Rayburn was preceded in death by his parents, David "Bob" and Ethyl Hamaker. He is survived by his wife, Gail Phillips Hamaker; daughters Kellie (Michael) Rockett, Julie (D.W.) Shelton, and his niece Jayne (Jimmy) Harper, whom he loved as his daughter, and their children, Laura & Katy. Grandchildren, Meagan and Emily Rockett; Madelyn and Ryan Shelton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rayburn was greatly loved by his family and friends. He made a lasting impression on those who knew him and he will be missed greatly. Many memories were of Rayburn enjoying family and friends at Smith Lake.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 2, 2006 at 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Valhalla Chapel at 2:30PM. 5317 Bessemer Super Hwy., Midfield, AL. 35228; (205)425-9898.
