Robert Earl Owens, Sr., age 77, of Midfield, Alabama passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Baptist Princeton Hospital in Birmingham.

Mr. Owens was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where he was formerly active with Midfield Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball. He was a member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church, a veteran with the United States Army and was retired from Alabama Metal Industries with thirty-four years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Maude Owens and a sister Jerry Walden.

Mr. Owens is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Faye Owens; a son, Robert Earl Owens, Jr. (Jolee); a daughter, Robin Dewberry; five grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas, and Genny Trammell, Taylor and Peyton Owens; three great grandchildren, Bentley and Camden Hall and Sophia Trammell; three brothers; Harry Owens, Ray Owens (Liz), and Mike Owens (Darla) and a sister, Susan Blake (Dennis).

Services for Mr. Owens will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Rev. Ed Cruce officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A. M. until time of service at the funeral home.
