Rev. Ronald F. "Ronnie" Euler
July 4, 1937 - June 13, 2015
Rev. Ronnie Euler, age 77, of Pleasant Grove, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2015.
In addition to his parents, Fred and Mildred Euler, Ronnie was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Deanna Sue; sister, Linda; brother, Leonard; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Juanita Myers.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jeanine (Myers), sweethearts since high school; his loving children, Carlton (Kacey), Byron (Lori) and Brandon (Heather); four much adored grandchildren, Kaylee, Jake, Bret and Zack; sisters-in-law, brothers -in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Ronnie began working as a carrier for the Birmingham News at age eleven to help support his family. He also worked as a Club Manager for the Birmingham Barons in high school. Later in life, his wife and three sons spent many nights at Rickwood Field. He also enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, Samford and Alabama football. In more recent years, he and Jeanine loved watching their grandchildren play sports in Hoover. Ronnie attended Jones Valley for ten years and graduated from Glenn Vocational High in 1955 in automobile mechanics. After high school before being called into the ministry, he worked at Ingalls Iron Works and attended UAB. He received his B. A. Degree and Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Howard College (now Samford University), and his Master of Divinity with Greek and Hebrew from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1965.
His active ministry has been in Alabama beginning at First Baptist of Lomax in Clanton. He left there and went to seminary and before graduation in 1965 he was called as Associate Pastor of First Baptist in Albertville. His ministry continued at First Baptist of Pelham and Second Baptist of Bessemer. He served as interim pastor at three churches: Community, Abernant and Snowtown. He taught school at Cahaba Heights, Berney Points Christian, Abrams and Davis in Bessemer. He retired in 1999 due to failing eye-sight. He loved his country and served in the National Guard for six years.
Ronnie became an active member of First Baptist Pleasant Grove in 1984. He served as a deacon, taught Discipleship Training Classes, enjoyed Men''s Prayer Breakfasts and the Keenagers. He was Director of the Chapel Sunday School Class for the past twelve years.
His celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Pleasant Grove with Rev. Harold Newberry, Rev. Wes Haley, and Dr. Daven Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service.
