A time to be born…Ronald Theodore Hicks was born on October 1, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Roland and Annie Pearl Hicks. He was the oldest of five children.

A time to live…Ronnie confessed his love for the Lord, Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Christian Valley Baptist Church in Collegeville, Birmingham, Alabama. He later joined the New Mount Olive Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

He attended and graduated from the Birmingham public school system. Ronnie truly answered the call as a self-taught pianist and organist. In his musical career he displayed a passion for training and directing choirs. To many, he was a well-known minister of music.

His character of servitude afforded him to work in a variety of occupations assisting the public: Restaurants, daycare, Budget rental and in Florida repairing homes for the senior population.

After sharing in watching the first NBA final game with family, he departed this life at 12:50 A.M., Friday May 31, 2019.

He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Donald (Jackie) Hicks, three sisters, Sabrina (Leon) Foster of Birmingham, Alabama, Brenda (John) Bass and Shelia (Lee) Bass of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family of Ronald Hicks wishes to express our sincerest gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown during our time of bereavement.

A Celebration of life for Brother Ronald (Ronnie) Hicks will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at New Mount Olive Baptist Church, 4124 26 ^th Street North, Birmingham, Alabama 35207 with Pastor Hawood Nelson officiating
