Roselle Massey Cooley
At the age of 97, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on December 10, 2016. Roselle was born in Lacey''s Chapel, Alabama, on October 4, 1919, to parents Leona Sellers Massey and Joseph J. Massey. She was the youngest of four children.
On February 20, 1937, she married Jesse Newbern Cooley, and they raised two sons together. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Roselle was a businesswoman who owned a Merle Norman cosmetics studio and enjoyed helping her loyal customers to look and feel their best.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Larry Wayne Cooley, sisters Edna Weston and Madge Rosser, and brother Buddy Massey.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jesse Eugene and Frances Cooley; grandchildren Susan Cooley, Jesslyn Lantrip, Shane Cooley, and Jill Cooley; great-grandchildren Chazz William Lantrip and Jessi Raye Lantrip; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are planned at Valhalla Cemetery in Midfield, Alabama, on Saturday, December 17, 2016. 2:00 pm, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church Building Fund, McCalla, Alabama.
