Obituary

Sarah Long Fricks entered her Heavenly home with family by her side on February 17, 2021. She was a loving wife and the best mother and nanny. Sarah loved everyone. She had worked at the Music Box, Bobbie Brooks, and Centre Manufacturing.
Her hobbies included traveling, gardening, bird watching, spending time at the lake with family, and taking care of everyone.
Funeral services will be Saturday February 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Crestwood Funeral Home with Brother Gary Baswell officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and last until the time of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Hazel Long, father in law Luny Fricks, mother in law Bernice (Jim) Gidley, sisters Clara Taylor and Ernestine Grey, sister in law Karen Means, and granddaughter Meredith Moore.
Mrs. Fricks is survived by her loving husband of sixty three wonderful years Maurice Fricks, children Patsy (Ray) Moore, Michael (Sheila) Fricks, and Kala (Alan) Scott; grandchildren Justin (Destany) Clark, Dane (Anna) Moore, Ryan (Spenser) Moore, Tasha (Harrison) Romano, and Kristopher (Heather) Fricks, brother James R. Long, sisters in law Debbie (Ed) White and Donna (Kevin) Cox, Judy (Terry) Cleghorn, Mark (Tammy) Gidley, brother in law Larry Means, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family requests no flowers. Instead, they would like donations to be made to the Children's Hospital Sugar Plum Shop in Birmingham or St. Judes Hospital.
The family would like to thank Kindred Home Health and Comfort Care Hospice, and also a very special thank you to granddaughter Tasha for the care that she gave Nanny.
