age 84, of Midfield, AL, passed away on September 16, 2007. She was a licensed dental hygenist, employed for many years in Birmingham. She was a longtime member of Fairfield Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and as one of the first female ruling elders elected by her congregation. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM with burial in Brighton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 22, from 10:00 until 2:00p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Cecil A. Ponder, Sr.; her children James D. Rittmann, Jr. and Catherine Rittmann Gilbert, daughter-in-law, Martha B. Rittmann and son-in-law, Oscar E. Gilbert, Jr.; her grandchildren, Jim and John Rittmann, Jordan, Jillian and Bill Gilbert; brother William M. Wintter, Jr. and his wife Pinky, of Orlando FL; sister, Mrs. Mary Hutchins of Alabaster, AL; stepsons, TDent Ponder and his wife Barbara and Cecil Ponder, Jr. and his wife Charlotte; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Children's Presbyterian Home in Talladega, AL.
