Sgt. Charles Roy Roberts, (USAR-Retired) age 79 of Knoxville, TN formerly of Birmingham, AL went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2022.

Sgt. Roberts was a devoted and dedicated member of the United States Armed Forces, he proudly served his country for 32 years in the US Army, US Army National Guard and later as a Civilian Employee at the Anniston Army Depot.

Sgt. Roberts was an avid family man; his family was a very important part of his life, he enjoyed spending time with them and enjoyed making sure they were taken care of. He was also an avid fisherman and fishing was one of his favorite pastime hobbies.

Sgt. Roberts was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He had a big heart and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Sgt. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 18 years, Sharon Roberts. He leaves to cherish his memories: three children, c. Neal Roberts (Janna), Michael Roberts and Kathy Hinkle; three grandchildren, Jake Roberts, Brieanna Tidwell (Adam) and Kristine Hinkle; two great grandchildren, Troy Scott Hinkle and Annaliese Tidwell; one brother, Jake Roberts and many other relatives and friends.
