Lanier, Sherrie Vann, age 68, of Fairfield, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Paul David Lanier and brother, Marion Vann. She was a founding member of Heartland Cruisers Car Club. Mrs. Lanier was previously employed in the sales department of U.S.Steel, as well as the owner of Paul's VCR repair. She was also retired from Landmark Credit Union. In addition she was the past president of Fairfield B P W. Every morning Mrs. Lanier had a time of devotion and in the evening she took time to read her Bible and have a visit with the Lord before ending her day. She was a member of The United Methodist Church. She is survived by; her daughter Aimee Vann Lanier, her stepson; David (Cathy) Harris, two grandchildren Brittany and Amber Harris. She also leaves her parents; Monroe and Madeline Vann, and mother-in-law; Kathleen Lanier Cantley. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2010 at 1:30pm in the Chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at Valhalla Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm. In lieu of customary rememberances donations may be made in Mrs. Lanier's memory to Kidd One Transport, 3535 7th Court South, Birmingham, AL 35222. The Lanier family wishes to extend a deep appreciation to the Heartland Cruisers Car Club family, the Landmark Credit Union family, and the Clayton College family.
