Shirley T Buttram, age 74 of Bessemer, AL passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at UAB West Hospital.   Born Shirley Thomaston on December 13, 1946 to the late Herman and Mary Thomaston, she was a true Christian woman with a heart of gold. Shirley was a long time member of Raimund Heights Church; she always put GOD and her family first.  She was a hard working, loving and giving woman who was known for her stern hand shaking and strong hugs that always packed a punch of love. She enjoyed being a wonderful wife to the late Tommy Buttram and a mother to her only son, Beau Buttram.  Sistee, as she was known by to all of her nieces and nephews will truly be missed.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; one sister, Carolyn L. Kemp and one brother, Herman Thomaston, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her only son, Beau Buttram; one brother, Sam (Judy) Thomaston and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Valhalla Funeral Home, 5317 Bessemer Sper Highway, Midfield, AL from 11 am to 12 noon with funeral services to immediately follow and burial in Valhalla Cemetery.
