IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Short
Lockett
January 22, 1942 – August 24, 2024
On August 24th, 2024, we mourned the loss of a remarkable man, Short Lockett Sr. His passing marked the end of a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Short was a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, and his absence has left an irreplaceable void in those who knew him.
Short grew up surrounded by love and support from his dearly departed parents, Sara and Dave Lockett. He shared a special bond with his siblings, Mary Locket, Martha Lockett, and James Hutchins, who are at peace. Short's vibrant spirit and genuine kindness touched the hearts of many, and his departure leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Short's late son, Ronnie Lockett, awaited him with open arms beyond this world. Despite the profound loss, Short will forever be remembered for his enduring love, strength, and wisdom, which will continue to guide and inspire us.
Short's impact extended far beyond his immediate family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 46 years, Mrs. Earnestine Lockett, who stood by his side through the highs and lows of life. Together, they built a foundation of love and strength. In addition, his children, Jeanette (Lorenzo) Wright, Bridgette Smith, Donnell (Katrina) Lockett, David Lockett, Short Lockett Jr., and Derek Smith, who he was a guiding light and role model too. His memory will be honored and cherished by his stepchildren, Christopher Acoff, Gloria Thompson, and Deqita Jackson, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
As we mourn and celebrate Short's life, his indomitable spirit will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us as we navigate a world forever changed by his absence yet enriched by his enduring legacy.
