Garrison, Sylvia Jean, age 64, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Sept. 21, 2008. She was a member of Crestway Baptist Church. Sylvia retired from BellSouth with 30 years of service and BE&K, Inc. with 11 years of service. Graveside Services will be Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Valhalla Cemetery. Dr. Jimmy Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Hoyt Garrison of Bessemer. She is survived by her brother, Milton (Denise) Garrison and nephew, Christopher (Sylvia) Garrison. She is also survived by cousins and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Crestway Baptist Church, 6400 Crestwood Boulevard, Birmingham, AL 35212 or a favorite charity.
