Obituary

Thomas Ray Bell, Jr. age 83, was born in Jefferson County on September 7, 1930 Alabama and died on July 27, 2014 in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty years, Juanita B. Bell, him mother, Ruth E. Bell and father Thomas Ray Bell, Sr.

He is survived by three daughters, Beverly Bell (Chip Wells), Janice Nelson (Charles) and Linda Bell; two grandchildren, Thomas Nelson (Jamie) and Amber Barbee (Ricky); sister, Evelyn Crotwell (Charles).

Ray began work at A&P which was interrupted by the Korean Conflict. He served in the Navy from 1950-1953 . After the war, he got a fresh start at Long Lewis and went on to work at Sears for thirty-five years. For the last fifteen years of his career, he was the Service Department Manager at Sears in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Ray worshipped for many years at the Northwood Church of Christ. Over the years, he served the Lord as a Deacon, Elder, and faithful member.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Valhalla Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 9-10 A. M. Thursday prior to the Graveside Service at Valhalla Funeral Home.
