age 84, of Midfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 4, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. He was an Army Veteran of WWII in the European Campaigns with the Quarter Master Division. He retired from Aplha Portland Cement Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Roberts Richard; daughter, Patricia Ann Richard; and parents, Bill and Oberia Richard. Survivors include: daughters Jean (Jim) Richard-McConnell and Sheila (Jimmy)Shahid; grandchildren, Nicky Taylor and Meg Taylor; great-grandchild Anna Taylor; sister Lucille Gaskin; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer special thanks to the Community Hospice, the Kirkland Clinic Cancer Center on Acton Rd., and to his caregiver Marcia Hyde. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Valhalla Chapel with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7 from 5-8pm.
