Our dear mother whom we deeply cherish, Tommie Lee Dobyne, age 87, sadly passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, after a long and full life. Though we are confident she's gone home to glory and seated at the foot of her Savior, she will be terribly missed. Tommie Lee Dobyne was born in Shelby, MS, to Louise Elizabeth Whitworth and Ruben Leon Whitworth, Sr. on February 24, 1935. She grew up in the Birmingham, AL area as the oldest sibling of six brothers. She later met and married the love of her life, Edward Andrew Dobyne, Sr. and spent most of her adult life alongside him as a professional salesperson and entrepreneur. Before her retirement, Tommie was a Business Development Trainer for years. She and her husband moved to Ocean Springs, MS where she happily lived out the last seventeen years of her life.  Tommie was a beauty in every sense of the word, both inside and out. Her infectious spirit and loving-kindness can be felt by all who were blessed to know her. To know her was to love her and she is loved by so many. May we all move forward with the same loving-kindness woven into our lives. Tommie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be dearly missed.  Tommie Lee Dobyne is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Andrew Dobyne, Sr.; Stepchildren; Darla Sherry Dobyne, Edward Andrew Dobyne, Jr.; Brothers; Aubrey Whitworth, Cecil Whitworth, and John Wayne Whitworth.

She is survived by her children; Sidney Vanderslice (Janice), Gloria Jana Fulcher (John), James Allen Dobyne, Tami Kruk (Walter), Kathi Adkins, and Richard Dobyne; her grandchildren; Tammy, Gray, Ashlee, Shea, John Curtis, Lindsay, Elizabeth, Scott, Christy, April, Niki, Robyn, Michelle , Sherri Lynn, and Christopher; her many great-grandchildren, and her brothers; Johnny Whitworth, Leon Whitworth, Jr., and Bobby Whitworth.
