Tommy Mack Fortenberry, age 72, of Hoover AL. passed away on February 20, 2013 at a local hospital.

Tommy graduated from Corner High School in 1960, where he enjoyed playing football and basketball.

He was a successful businessman for the last 25 years of his life.

Tommy was a loving husband and father; no matter what life brought him, his positive outlook prevailed.

He is preceded in death by both parents: Otis and Inez Fortenberry, two brothers: Johnny and Larry Fortenberry, and one sister: Brenda Bennett.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife: Debra Rogers Fortenberry; his sons: Tommy McNeil Fortenberry (Cindy), Johnny Fortenberry (Carol), and Spencer Chase Rogers (Erika); grandchildren: Jason Fortenberry, Jennifer Fortenberry, and Harper Skye Rogers; sister: Kathy Pope of Sumiton, AL; nieces: Kristen Smith, Marissa Cierra, and Bella; and his beloved dog: Bear.

Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Tuesday February 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a visitation held on Monday evening February 25, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. The internment will take place at Valhalla Cemetery.
