age 89, of Hueytown, passed away on December 26, 2007. He was a US Navy veteran and retired from US Steel after 38 years of service. Graveside services will be on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 12 noon with burial in Valhalla cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday Dec. 28, 2007 from 11 until 12. He was preceded in death by his wife Lettie C. Gillies. He is survived by his three sons; John (Phyllis) Gillies of Hartselle, Cliff (Kim) Gillies of Pensacola and Malcolm Gillies of Hueytown. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
