Junkins, Sr., Van T., age 57, of Birmingham, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2008. He graduated from Ensley High School and attended the University of Alabama for two years. He served in the National Guard. He was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Dr. James A. Auchmuty officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his mother, Norma T. Junkins; his son, Van T. Junkins, Jr.; his daughter, Carolyn Etress (Steve) and his granddaughter, Allie Etress; his brother, Paul Junkins; numerous cousins, uncles and a host of friends.
