Vicki Jackson Caldwell
August 26, 1948- November 25, 2021
Mrs. Vicki Jackson Caldwell of Birmingham, AL went to be with the Lord at the age of 73. A 1966 graduate of Hueytown High School, she earned an Associate in Science degree from Jefferson State Junior College in 1983 while she worked full time until retirement from Social Security in 2008. She was a faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church and South Roebuck Baptist Church before that, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, feeding the homeless, studying the Bible with her Sunday School class, and working in the kitchen during VBS.
Mrs. Vicki Caldwell is preceded in death by her parents, W. B. & Mary Jane Jackson;
her husband, Thomas E. Caldwell; her daughter, Laura Caldwell Crain; and her
grandchild Sophie Crain.
Loved by many, Mrs. Caldwell answered to Momma, MeMe, & Ms. Vicki, and she
never met a stranger. Sharp as a tack, she enjoyed board games, puzzles, & dominoes
and loved watching Alabama football- in person and on TV. A wonderful Southern cook, she collected recipes and watched Brenda Gantt videos. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling with the Cadillac club, serving at the Roebuck Elks #79 Lodge, and spending time with her precious family and spoiling her dog, Buddy. All who knew and loved her will miss her tremendously.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Caldwell Beason (Bobby); her grandchildren Andrew Crain, Allison Beason, Sarah Catherine Crain,
Emily Beason, and Jackson Crain; her Uncle Len & Aunt Jan Jackson; and many beloved cousins and sweet friends.
A funeral service will be held at Eastside Baptist Church on Saturday, December 4th at 11:00 AM. The family will receive visitors before the service from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Brother Brian Law with songs performed by Brother Chip Wise and Ms. Wendy Jackson Hudson.
After the funeral service, burial will take place at Valhalla Cemetery in Bessemer.
The family requests that donations be made to Eastside Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
