Virginia Acoff was the oldest of nine children born on June 26, 1940 in Selma, AL to the late Clarence and Lula Young. Virginia went home to be with her Lord on December 14, 2017 at Legacy Health and Rehab in Pleasant Grove, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Lee Acoff and two siblings, Johnny Young and Clarence Young.
Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother who faithfully served as a Jehovah Witness until her health declined. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memories: seven children, Leatha Acoff-Foster, Montgomery Alabama; Joretha Acoff, Youngtown, Arizona; Angela Acoff, Tonja Acoff-Curry, Joe Lee Acoff, Jr., Melissa Acoff and Fanta Acoff all of Birmingham, AL; six grandchildren, Jennifer Foster, DeAndre Acoff, Cordarius Acoff, Monique Curry, Elissa Acoff and Aiden Acoff; one great grandchild, Christopher Jordan Foster; six siblings, Joe (Sarah) Young, Detroit, MI; Minnie Ruth (Delma) Williams, Alberta AL; Elma (Charlie) Ford and Eddie Young both of Selma, AL; Willie (Betty)Young, Birmingham, AL and Susie Thrash, Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
