Virginia A. Clinton
December 5, 1916 - February 16, 2015
Mrs. Clinton, lovingly referred to as "Nannie" or "Auntie" by her family and many friends, entered into her well deserved rest on Monday.
She was preceded by her husband, E.W. (Dub) Clinton, her parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her only son, Charles and his wife Barbara Clinton; 1 granddaughter, Kym and her husband Malcolm Proctor, 1 grandson, Kelly and his wife Terri Clinton; 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The Clinton''s moved to Bessemer from Heiberger, Alabama in 1941 and joined Jonesboro Methodist Church where she remained until it merged with Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Although it grieved her to attend a different church from her son, she chose to attend First United Methodist Church of Hueytown to be close to her best friend, Jo Edmonson.
Among her many hobbies her 78 years as a member of the Homemakers Club held her heart.
The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to Comfort Care Hospice for their tender loving care of our Nannie.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 on Friday, February 20, 2015, with services following at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 4809 Bell Hill Road, McCalla, AL. Pastors Alan Head and Dean Bowers officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Hueytown or Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
