Chappell, Vivian Orlean Smith , of Bessemer, AL, our beloved mother and "Nanny" started her circle of life on June 4, 1918 and completed the journey Thursday, February 19, 2009 which has taken her to her heavenly home to be with her beloved Savior. She was a member of Grant Street Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter, Sr. Leaving behind for awhile her children Margaret Chappell Parsons (Phillip), Walter J. Chappell, Jr. (Joye) and Pamela Marie Chappell Shaw (David); ten grandchildren; twenty one great grands and three great great grands almost here. She has many nephews and nieces, many dear friends, especially a special dear niece "Dot" of Maplesville, AL. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Monday, February 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Rev. Tony Fisher and Rev. Johnny Lawrence officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2009 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. The family request that donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home, 3310 Independence Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209
