Walter Carl Christian, 88 yrs, of Lafayette, IN, died June 20, 2013.

Mr. Christian graduated from Bessemer High School (AL, 1942), Auburn University (1948) and served in the US Navy in WWII (1943-45). He worked in purchasing for Woodward Iron Company, the Mead Corporation and the Drummond Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen C. Christian and Annie Mae (Walls) Christian; Wife: Emma Christine Bryant; Two sons: W Carl Christian, Jr (Bevelea, dec) and Cory V Christian (Karen, McCalla, AL)

Mr. Christian is survived by his wife, Faye Bishop Christian (57 yrs), Lafayette, IN; Sons: John A (Judy) Christian, Lafayette, IN; Robert O Christian, Birmingham, AL; Grandchildren: Andrew (Katie) Christian, Calera, AL; April (Brian) Smith, Silvan Springs, AL; Shelby (Jon) Ward, Springfield, OH; Avery Christian (Lafayette, IN); Caleb Christian (Indianapolis, IN); and 7 nephews.

Visitation will Tuesday, June 25 at Valhalla Funeral Home, 5317 Bessemer Super Highway , Midfield AL (205) 425-9898 at 11:30 AM with a Service to follow at 1:00 PM. At Valhalla Chapel with John Christian presiding.
