Wanda Sue Ballard, age 71, of Hueytown, AL went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

Mrs. Ballard was a native of Charleston, West Virginia and a resident of Jefferson County since 1969. She was a former member and secretary of the First Church of the Nazarene of Hueytown and presently a member of Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene. She was a member of the Extension Homemakers Club where she served in numerous positions including Vice-President and President of the local chapter and served as President of the Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Club. Mrs. Ballard was actively involved with the PTA of Hemphill Elementary School from 1969 to 1976 and was a volunteer for the Red Cross from 1972 to 1978. She was preceded in death by her son, James Elbert Ballard.

Mrs. Ballard is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Harold W. Ballard; two daughters, Monica Ballard Martin (Kenneth) and Linda Ballard Snider (Joel) and a daughter-in-law, Donna Ballard; three grandsons, Jason Edward Snider, James Ballard, Jr., and Michael Wayne Ballard; three great grandchildren, Dylan, Liam, and Joshua; two sisters, Deloris Mamoran (Jess) and Phyllis Hall; three brothers, Roy Wright, Robert Wright (Diane) and Paul Wright (Rebecca).

Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with Bruce Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
