It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Lee "Billy" Gilbert, age 81, of Jasper, Alabama, who went to be with his Lord on March 27, 2025.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield, Alabama. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel, officiated by Brother Jeff Allred and Brother Fritz Harter.

Born on August 3, 1943, Billy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devoted family man known for his strong work ethic and hands-on nature. Billy enjoyed spending time in his backyard, restoring his vintage car, and traveling to car shows, where he shared his passion with others. His life left a lasting and cherished impact on all who knew him. He was a faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Gilbert; his daughter, Wendy Gilbert; his stepson, Michael Fortner (Teressa); grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Carmen Smith, and Michael Bryant; and great-grandchildren, Cory Smith, Carter Smith, Leda Gunter, and Gabriella Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thad and Mildred Gilbert, and his first wife, Bonnie Jean Gilbert.

Billy's legacy of love, devotion, and determination will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
