William Claude "Pete" Vowell, age 87, of Fairfield, Alabama passed away on August 30, 2014 at a hospital in Jasper, Alabama.

He was a graduate of Fairfield High School, class of ''48.

He was also a World War II Veteran and a life time member of B.P.O. Elks.

Pete was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 49 years; Royce McGill Vowell, his mother- Mary Stewart Vowell; his father- Raymond W. Vowell, Sr. and Brother- Raymond W. Vowell, Jr.

Pete is survived by his wife- Gladys, daughters- Joy Vowell Ramey (Jeff), Amy Vowell (John David Currier), grandsons- Cole Ramey, and Cary Ramey, and a host of nephews, nieces, and great- nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 11:30 am, with a visitation starting at 10am. Internment will take place at Valhalla Cemetery.
