Wilma Catherine Knowles, age 99, of Hurtsboro, Alabama, formerly of Bessemer, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Knowles was a native and life long resident of Alabama where she resided in Bessemer most of her life. She resided in Hurtsboro, Alabama for the past twenty years and was a member of the Hurtsboro First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Knowles, Sr. and five brothers.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Sims McClain, Pamela Sims Hughes, and Ann DeFoor Moore; four grandchildren; Tommy, Kim and Joe McClain and Jake Howard; five great grandchildren, Casey and Chantelle McClain, Lee and Jessica McClain, and Stella Howard and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Cemetery with Chris Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. 1:45 P.M. prior to the Graveside Service at Valhalla Funeral Home.
