He passed away on November 20, 2025 at the Birmingham VA Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. Master Sergeant Jacks was born to Ida and Luke Jacks on May 9, 1931 in Huntsville, Alabama.
He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1950. Throughout his military career, he served in the Korean War and Vietnam War, received multiple achievements and awards, and was honorably discharged in 1971. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he worked hard as a skilled Welder until he retired at the age of 79.
On December 23, 1962 he married Irue Foster and they welcomed their daughter, Candy, in May of 1969. He was a devoted husband and a wonderful father.
